- When was the last party you attended? I went to a the farewell of 2 friends who are leaving the church they are involved in (and which I used to go to). They are husband and wife and the husband is training to be a priest in the Anglican church. He will be training at All Saints Peckham.
- Have you seen fireworks this year? No.
- What was the last alcoholic drink you had? Pimms and the left over flat dregs of Schweppes lemonade from my birthday lunch at the beginning of July. I was a bit desperate at the time for something boozy to drink.
- Have you ever partied a little too much, and wondered what happened the next morning? No - I generally remember when I've made a fool of myself. I remember I once got trashed at a church (hey we're talking about English Anglicans here!) fancy dress party in 2004 and someone told me that I made disparaging remarks about a friend of mine whose husband drove me home in a dishevelled state. At the time I was dressed as Bridget Jones.
- Show us a great party
This was taken by my friend Jenny's friend Kat at a BBQ we had on a sunny afternoon at Jenny's flat in Deptford. We drank lots of Swedish vanilla and raspberry vodka which Jenny was trying to get rid of as she was moving back to Sweden.
1. What's something you have a lot of?
Tonnes of books - I'm a voracious reader. Always seem to have enough money for a book - compared to anything else. I do try and give them away as much as possible if I know I'm not going to read a book again or I'm not making much use of it. But I'm such a hoarder (trying not to be).
2. What's something you need more of?
Hesitating on this one - because compared to many who live in this world I'm incredibly wealthy. Maybe I would say decent clothes - should I invest more money in that perhaps?
3. How do you feel about shopping?
Detest supermarkets. Especially the crowds. They feel so cramped and I always end up buying more than I need because of the supermarket's evil, devious strategies to make you do so and buy one get one free is always a temptation. Shopping in London is not very pleasurable in the sense that there are so many people about all the time and it can get very tiring trying to find what you want. Saying that there are so many interesting shops, big and small in this city. It's always nice when you get a good bargain. I'm visiting the famous Harrods in Knightsbridge for the first time today - so that will be interesting. I've lived here for 8 years and I've never been. I'm going with 2 friends, including 1 who used to work there. She told me last night that she spent 45 minutes chatting and flirting with a high profile British comedian for about 45 minutes after helping him find a gift for his girlfriend. Funny thing is she didn't have a clue who he was until he left and a colleague told her.
4. Have you ever won anything?
Not from a shop I don't think. I don't enter a lot of competitions or buy raffle tickets or anything. But I came top of my class for various things at high school. Won an art competition when I was 12!
5. Show us something you bought recently
They're not just about Adrian - they are a satire of the social and political mores of the times Adrian is living in. Worth checking out.
- What kind of things could you spend a Sunday afternoon doing?
Generally I will be reading a book or watching TV. Sometimes I will be having lunch with friends.
2. What kinds of topping do you like on your sundae?
Caramel - that's it really. I'm very easy to please.
3. Name something yellow in your sight at the moment
Our wooden floor at home looks very yellow.
4. What's your favourite television channel?
I don't really have one. I watch a lot of Channel 4 and the BBC channels. I don't really watch ITV1 an awful lot.
5. Show us something fuzzy.
- How many times have you moved in your lifetime? About 15 times - you end up moving around a lot living in London, England. Like most world class cities - it's a very transient city.
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you go? I've always wanted to live in London where I'm living now - so that's brilliant. I feel really fortunate and blessed to have done so. I would love to live in the United States and experience the way of life in various places including New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta...
- Do you own or rent your home? Rent - which I'm fine with. I'm not one of those people who is dying to own their own home. I think the whole home and mortgage thing is overrated (mortgage is Latin for 'death grip' - go figure. The only thing is I want to feel more settled at this stage of my life and renting can feel so uncertain. I would quite like to live in a flat on my own at least.)
- What is the furthest distance you have moved? Between my home country New Zealand and London, England - I moved the opposite side of the world - 24 hour flight between the two places. That's a long way.
- Show us something around your house.
