How are you spending New Year's Eve?
Hanging out with some acquaintances in a dry hot wooden house in central Melbourne - drinking Coca Cola and admiring the visuals on the Mac monitor belonging to my host. Now at home chilling out. Just cooked some gnocchi mixed with pesto for a late supper. Got a text message from my dad in New Zealand. Happy New Year everyone!
What was the last good movie you watched?
Erm - the last thing that I saw at the cinema which I really enjoyed was this one...
If you had the ability to teleport, where would you go right now?
Straight to Australia where I'm going to live at the end of the week - it would save me a 20 something hour flight. It would be really great if I could teleport all my stuff there as well. It's costing me a flamin' fortune to get my stuff there by ship. Been quite an emotional day jettisoning a lot of my possessions.
Video: Show us a video that makes you laugh.
I mentioned this briefly yesterday. A friend and I watched this on cable at her house and we were just hysterical with laughter. You just genuinely felt embarassed for the lead character and we were constantly saying: "NO! Don't do that!" throughout the entire movie.
Book: Show us a book you've read more than once.
I read this obsessively a number of times as a 13 year old.
How I empathised with Holden Caufield's hatred of the world's 'phoneys' at that age. Thankfully I avoided turning into someone who assassinated (or tried to assassinate) high profile celebs or a serial killer.
Video: Show us a music video you'd gladly watch over and over again.
Never in a million years would I have admitted it to my friends at 16 years of age - but I had the major hots for Jason Donovan, who played Scott in Australian soap Neighbours.
This is because I really prided my self on being into more 'sophisticated' artists - like, erm, Sting and Bono from U2...
Anyway JD had a cute, cheeky smile - which really appealed to the teen girl market. So I loved watching this cheesy music video over and over again at that time. Me and my best friend at the time also had a massive crush on Michael Hutchence from INXS so I quite liked watching this one as well. We also wanted to join the INXS fan club in Australia - but were too cheap to fork out Australian $30 per year for the pleasure. Not when there were loads of teen mags you could buy for much less! Interestingly both Donovan and Hutchence turned out to have huge 'issues' of various kinds - and similar tastes in women - eg: Kylie Minogue! Doesn't say much for my taste in men really.
One fave I do enjoy watching, even now, is this one:
Rock 'n' roll rebellion and marketing combined - awesome!
